WL Kehiliah: Rosh Hashanah Judaic Arts

Kehiliah: Rosh Hashanah Place Cards or Trivets using Sharpie Markers

Join Jody Glass, our Creative Judaic Arts Chairperson, to make these place cards/trivets just in time for Rosh Hashanah.

 
Supplies
  • Sharpie brand markers only (Fine tip not extra fine tip)– assorted colors – Can be purchased individually or as a set at any craft or office supply store
  • White Ceramic Tile – 4 x 4 inches for place card, 6 x 6 inches for trivet – available at Home Depot – purchase a minimum of 4 for the project. Tiles are normally less than a dollar each, better to buy more than less.
  • Rubbing Alcohol – 91% is better
  • Medicine Dropper – clean (doesn’t have to be new)
  • Self-Adhesive felt or cork feet for the base
  • Paper towels

Optional Supplies

  • Spray Bottle (to use with alcohol
  • Krylon clear sealer – water base
  • Blow Dryer
  • Straw – any type
  • Rubber gloves – use if you have an allergy to alcohol
Prior to the Session

Please wash the tiles with soap and water. You want to remove any dirt or oil that will prevent the markers from applying evenly.
