At the start of each Jewish new year, many Jews partake in the ritual Tashlich: a symbolic throwing our sins into the water. Tikkun HaYam has flipped that symbolism, and created “Reverse Tashlich.” As a way of removing our sins from the water, we clean up trash from beaches and other bodies of water.
