Parashat Lekh-Lekha begins Avram’s journey to being the father of the Jewish people, as God commands him to leave his home, his father’s home, and go to the place that God will show him – the land of Israel. If we were each called upon to make a journey, what would you pack with you? Specifically, what items that connect you to the people of Israel, Am Yisrael, would you bring with you? Perhaps this will be the year that you travel to Israel, to be with our brothers and sisters in the State of Israel. They need our support, as they are nearly 400 days into the war, and 101 hostages are still being held in Gaza. When you pack for any trip, whether to Israel, or to visit your grandchildren, make sure you bring your Torah Fund pin, so people will say, where can I donate money to receive a pin like that as a token of gratitude for my donation?
