Parashat Matot-Masei 5784

by Rabbi Ellen S. Wolintz-Fields

This Shabbat, we read the double Torah reading of Matot-Masei, which concludes the Book of Numbers, Sefer Bamidbar. The children of Israel, B’nai Yisrael, are about to enter the Promised Land of Israel. We read an itinerary of their travels in the wilderness. Imagine you are planning a trip to Israel, or talking to someone planning a trip. Where would you want to go ?  Where would you tell someone they had to go to?  What places have you never visited in Israel, and hope to go to soon? If one cannot physically be in Israel, you can virtually visit many places. One such place is Hostage Square in Tel Aviv – where you can meet families of hostages and hear their stories: https://stories.bringthemhomenow.net/online-sessions.

Let us pray that when we visit Israel next, we can meet the released hostages. #Bringthemhomenow Am Yisrael Chai!  The People of Israel Live!
