MAZON’s Hunger Action Month

July 2024: Congress is in Recess, But Our Fight to End Hunger Continues

As summer continues and Members of Congress head home to their states and districts for August recess, MAZON knows that hunger does not take a break. This August, we are taking action — and we hope that you will join us. Whether that is through meeting with your elected officials during the August recess, sending an action alert to your representatives, or educating yourself and your community by taking a tour of The Hunger Museum™, now is the perfect time to get involved.

August is MAZON’s Hunger Action Month
This August, we are calling you and your community to action for MAZON’s 2024 Hunger Action Month. With support and guidance from our policy experts and community organizers, you and your community will have the tools needed to meet with your representatives in Congress during the August recess when lawmakers return to their districts from Washington, DC. We will equip you with advocacy training, meeting toolkits, and more, enabling you to effectively advocate for strengthening our critical safety net programs. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that our nation’s policies reflect our values of compassion, justice, and dignity for all. Learn more about the imperative for all of us to use our voices this August, and register below to get involved.

Looking for plans that won’t break a sweat? Visit The Hunger Museum!

Today, a staggering number of Americans struggle to put food on the table. MAZON’s Hunger Museum is a unique and powerful exploration of how we got here and how we can end hunger. As policymakers continue to debate the next Farm Bill, now is a great time to learn more about the history of hunger, and how that history has shaped our current political landscape. The virtual Hunger Museum is always open, so you can engage with our immersive and interactive exhibits anytime, from anywhere, to learn about the political, economic, and cultural story of the expansion and dismantling of the American social safety net.

Explore the galleries, stay a while at the SNAP Café, and leave your wish for a more just world at theWishing Tree. You can also book a private guided tour — we would love to show you around!
On Wednesday, August 14th, you’re invited to join MAZON for a free guided tour of The Hunger Museum — register to attend here:
