This week’s Torah Reading, Parashat Ha’azinu, means “Give ear.” This is Moses’ poem delivered during his final days. Although Moses is asking Heaven to listen to him while he speaks, I think this is a very important lesson for all of us when we speak to each other. We have one mouth and two ears. We should listen more than we speak, since we have more parts of the body that hear than speak. It is our responsibility to listen to our fellow human beings, and really hear what the other person is saying. Let us all listen more and speak less.
