Israel – Special Relationship Between United States and Israel (1984)

The bonds between the United States and Israel are secured by their shared commitment to the defense of democracy, justice and freedom. Their people share common ideals, values and spiritual roots.

Israel has the strength, stability and strategic position to promote western interests in the Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean and to act as a bulwark against Soviet hegemony.

Women’s League for Conservative Judaism urges the United States government to continue its special relationship with Israel by:

  1. Politically supporting her right to exist as a sovereign nation;
  2. Protecting her status as a member nation of the United Nations;
  3. Providing ample economic assistance towards promoting Israel’s development and self-sufficiency;
  4. Providing adequate military aid to insure her security and self-defense needs;
  5. Participating in strategic cooperation.
