Susan Kleinman is the author of All Afternoon, a funny, tender novel about Marilyn, an Orthodox Jewish homemaker trapped in a loveless marriage and yearning to be a writer. Caught between the comfort of tradition and the thrill of new possibilities, Marilyn will have to decide exactly what price she’s willing to pay to live bravely, authentically, and without regret.

Susan is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, and was awarded a Kathryn Gurfein Writing Fellowship at Sarah Lawrence College, where she subsequently taught classes in fiction writing and overcoming writer’s block. Her short stories, articles, and essays have appeared in dozens of publications in the US and abroad, including The American Literary Review, CRAFT Literary, Jewish Fiction, The New York Times, Cosmopolitan, Hadassah Magazine, and House Beautiful; and her work has been translated into Spanish, Chinese, and Braille.

Read along with your sisters and join WL Reads for a discussion with Susan Kleinman on Sunday, June 13th at 11:00 am Eastern Time. Even if you haven’t had the opportunity to read the book by then, join us anyway. It will undoubtedly engage your attention.
