A Festive Reading of Megillat Ha’atzmaut 2023

Dear friends and partners!

We would like to invite you to join us again this year and take part in an exciting tradition –

Festive Reading of Megillat Ha’atzmaut at the Egalitarian Kotel

As you know, this is a multi-denomination multi-organizational event focused on reading the Declaration of Independence with tropes alongside a prayer for the State of Israel and World Jewry.

The event will be broadcasted live from the Kotel in multiple languages throughout the Jewish world and will be open to anyone who wishes to take part of the audience.

The event will be accompanied by educational activities centering on the Declaration of Independence, available for interested parties.

In the 75th year to the State of Israel, we are excited to hold this event for the third year running, in the hopes of it becoming an annual tradition that will reaffirm the message of the Declaration of Independence and strengthen our sense of Jewish Peoplehood in Israel and abroad.

You may find the recording of last year’s event here:

The World Zionist Organization will host this event with various partners, rabbis, public figures and more.

We would like to offer that you take part as one of our partners, and take part in this year’s Yom Ha’atzmaut event.

The event will take place on Sunday, the 2nd of Iyar, April 23rd, at 18:00 Israel Time.
[ Los Angeles 08:00 | Mexico city 10:00 | New York 11:00 | Buenos Aires 12:00 | London 16:00 | Central Europe 17:00 | Sydney 01:00 (April 24th) ]

By collaborating, you are agreeing to:

  • Mutual logo exchange among the organizations in all the event’s publications.
  • Advertising the event on your organization’s media – newsletters, social media, organizational mailing lists etc.
  • “Spreading the word” and promoting the event actively.
  • Cross-posting the event during the live broadcast on the organization’s platforms.
  • Encouraging worldwide public broadcasting of the event and holding accompanying educational activities about Israel’s Declaration of Independence

If you agree, we ask you to kindly send us:

  • Your organization’s logo (as it would be in the publications), preferably with a transparent background.
  • A short informational paragraph on your organization, which will be presented to the committee that approves the collaboration in the WZO.
