June 23 Message

“Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.” – Anne Frank

Shabbat Shalom!

This quote just spoke to me this week…for a variety of reasons!

There is the physical beauty that we see around us, and then there is the spiritual beauty of being with family and friends.

This past week, my husband and I have spent time with two of our granddaughters.  A tradition that we started five years ago, and the beauty of seeing these two young women, come together each summer is beautiful.  We feel blessed that they still like to travel together, and with the two of us.

The physical beauty that I am experiencing as I write this Shabbat message, is that we are sitting on a deck, at a lodge, in the middle of the Mesa Verde National Park…the silence, the beauty of the desert and the knowledge that the cliff dwellers that existed here in the 12th century left us messages that regardless of the length of time that we can learn for one another.

The beauty that we find in our spiritual home, in our synagogues and our sisterhoods, well it is all around us!  Yet, sometimes we do take it for granted.  I would like to encourage you to take a few minutes in the coming week, to think about all that is good, embrace it, and be happy.

Convention is right around the corner!  And, yes, there is still time for anyone of you to check out the “day by day” on the website and register.  Being with other like minded women and celebrating with us…is truly beautiful!  Davening together, networking together, learning together and making new friends is something that will make you happy.  For those of you that can not be with us in person, we will be live streaming Sunday evenings installation and other sessions.  Please check out the website or watch for an email with all of the pertinent information as to how to join us, via technology.

Beauty, of any kind, is all around us each day…embrace it and enjoy it!  Wishing each of you a beautiful Shabbat!
Carol
