“Female friendships are just a hop to our sisterhood, and sisterhood can be a very powerful force.” – Jane Fonda

Shabbat Shalom!

For many of us, our friends are our family. Our friends that we have met because of our involvement in our sisterhoods, regions and WLCJ are the family that we have chosen to be with, to celebrate with and yes, even to cry with. But together, we can do so much! Together we are a force to be reckoned with, when we pool our resources and energies to accomplish a goal.

When someone asks why belong to your local sisterhood or why work so hard on a region event…..the answer is simple. We do so much good together…whether it is knitting chemo caps, raising money for camp scholarships for the children within our synagogue communities, or simply planning a shiva meal..we do it because we understand the meaning of sisterhood. That when we put our minds together to accomplish something we do it together, not alone. Just as our ancestors spent time in the red tent…together, we spend time in the synagogues, our homes and a variety of other places, all in support of a goal.

So the next time someone asks you about the value of sisterhood…just let them know that the world is a better place because when we all come together, we are one powerful force!

To see just what this powerful looks like….mark your calendar for next July. When many of us will come together, sisters from around North America..friends…gathering at our next International Convention….celebrating the beginning of our 100th year. And, that, is the power of sisterhood!

Wishing each of you a meaningful and peaceful Shabbat. a Happy Canada Day for our Canadian sisters, and a very Happy 4th of July this week.

B’Shalom,
Carol
