Our goal is to introduce you to as many successful ways to welcome and connect as possible. Panelists will sh are ideas and programs that make everyone feel welcomed. We will involve e veryone who attends with breakout sessions where you will have a chance to share your own ideas and programs. We will compile our ideas and email th em to you.\n \;\nOur panelists are Marsha Strongin from Synagogue Agud as Achim in Austin\, Texas\, a past Sisterhood President and a Women’s L eague Vice President\; Marcie Abramson\, VP of Engagement at Temple Emanue l\, Newton Centre\, Massachusetts\; and Sue Lischkoff\, presently Chair of the Membership Committee and past Sisterhood co-President of  \;Templ e Beth-El\, Birmingham\, Alabama.\n \;\n\n\n\n\n\nMarsha Rosenblum Str ongin\nMarsha is a member of Congregation Agudas Achim in Austin\, Texas. She is a WLCJ Vice President in charge of the next International Conventio n in July of 2026. She is a past Women’s League Treasurer\, a past Regio n President and Region Treasurer and served as many officers including Pre sident of multiple sisterhoods. She managed two different Judaica Shops fo r a total of fifteen years and brought one shop into the twenty-first cent ury by putting all the shop’s records onto a point-of-sale program. \nSh e is a retired finance attorney and had a short career in the brokerage in dustry. \nMarsha lives with her husband and two dogs. She is a proud mothe r and grandmother and loves to chant haftorah. In her spare time\, Marsha travels\, gardens\, cooks\, bakes\, and does needlework.\n\n \;\nSue L ischkoff\nSue Lischkoff has lived in Birmingham all her life - except when she attended the University of Florida and the University of Alabama! \nS ue has been a part of Temple Beth El \; her entire life. She attended religious school\, became a Bat Mitzvah\, \; was confirmed and married her husband Bill at TBE. In addition\, their daughters Risa and Paige bot h attended religious school\, celebrated becoming a Bat Mitzvah and were a ctive in our USY Youth Group. \nBecause of the integral role TBE has playe d in her life\, Sue chose to focus her volunteer efforts at TBE. \nSue has served in many capacities including being a member of the Temple Board an d the Foundation Board as well as participating in a variety of special co mmittee work. She has \; been coordinator of Sisterhood for \; 9 y ears and currently is a Board Vice President and co-chair of the \; Me mbership Committee.\nThe \; Membership Committee has a large focus on not only recruiting new members but also welcoming them and engaging them with the Synagogue community. \; Sue is looking forward to learning an d sharing ideas during our inclusion program.\n \;\nMarcie Abramson\nM arcie Abramson was born and raised in Newton\, Massachusetts. Marcie has c alled Temple Emanuel (TE) her home for many\, many years. \nShe and her br others all became b’nai mitzvah at TE and her parents were involved in v arious temple groups. It is this spiritual\, religious\, and Jewish social background that has guided her to become involved and engaged in the goin gs on\, inside and out\, of the shul. She and her husband Jeffrey are regu lar attendees and supporters of the TE Daily Minyan\, where they have made many dear friends. They are also avid sports fans\, as well as lovers of travel\, by plane\, train or automobile! \nMarcie is currently on the Boar d of Directors of Temple Emanuel where she serves as the Vice President of Engagement. Among her many roles\, she is co-chair of the Membership Comm ittee\, was on the Strategic Planning Committee and is the Chair of the Sh abbat Alive Friday Night Greeter Committee. \nFor over thirty years Marcie was a middle school mathematics teacher and curriculum coordinator and is now an adjunct Education and Math Professor at Brandeis University. She w as inducted into the MA Hall of Fame for Mathematics Educators in 2018. \n Working in education for so many years has helped her to plan creative and joyous programs at the shul.
