 Faith: Advocating for Civil Rights\n\n\n‘I'd like to be remembered as a 
 person who wanted to be free and\nwanted other people to be also free.’\
 n— Rosa Parks\, civil rights pioneer\, and face of the Montgomery bus bo
 ycott\n&nbsp\;\nPlease join us as we continue to explore the history of th
 e Civil Rights Movement.&nbsp\;While it really began in 1865 with the Thir
 teenth Amendment when slavery was abolished in the United States\, our foc
 us will be on the 1950s and 60s in which there was an organized effort by 
 Black Americans to end racial discrimination and gain equal rights under t
 he law.&nbsp\;Many people of conscience\, from all races and faiths joined
 . This includes the cherished connection shared between the Black and Jewi
 sh communities.&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;\nWho were those sisters in faith?&nbsp\;Wh
 at was their involvement in the Civil Rights Movement?&nbsp\;\nPlease join
  us on&nbsp\;Thursday\, February 8th\, as we explore the activism of women
  during the 50s and 1960s as they worked toward a shared goal of equality.
  Explore with us the effect/s of Jewish and Black women activists of the m
 ovement then and now.\n&nbsp\;\nListed below is the title and very brief d
 escription of the last remaining program in the series. Each program has b
 een a standalone program which can be attended individually or as part of 
 the series.&nbsp\;It will culminate with the trip\, Voices of Change: A WL
 CJ Civil Rights Journey. ALL WLCJ members are invited to attend the progra
 ms\, regardless of whether they intend to participate in the trip. You may
  register for each program individually or the last two of them at the sam
 e time.\n&nbsp\;\nThursday\, March 7th&nbsp\;at 7:30 – 8:45 pm ET:&nbsp\

 Travel virtually with us to locations\, museums\, and monuments meaningful
  to the civil rights movement.\n&nbsp\;\n\nRegistration is open to WL memb
