“A great accomplishment shouldn’t be the end of the road, just the starting point for the next leap forward.” – Harvey Mackay

Shabbat Shalom!

This past week at WLCJ, has been incredibly busy, productive, inspiring and exciting! Your WLCJ Exec Committee held our second retreat plus we had a full convention committee meeting! Our office was not quiet this week!

We were able to take time to evaluate many of the things that we do…our programming, our methods of communication and where we need to be as we start the course of our next 100 years. Doing all of this keeping you, our members and sisterhoods in mind. We all felt that the time and effort that was spent, not only in the meetings this week but the months of preparations, was something that will help us to focus on our end goal….supporting our members, supporting our sisterhoods in the best ways to make our organization stronger and better. As we finished our work….we knew that it was just the beginning of the next phase….implementing!

The process that WLCJ just completed, is one that our sisterhoods could be doing as well…..as well as each of us in our personal lives. If we think of our accomplishments not as the end goal, but just as a launch pad for the next challenge, just think of what we could do for ourselves and our sisterhoods! If last year for your Women’s League Shabbat you had an English reading for he first time, that was an accomplishment, but maybe this year you take an aliyah? If last year you were on the membership team for your sisterhood for the first time, that was a step forward, but this year volunteer to chair a membership event? If last year you attended a region event for the first time, that was an accomplishment…but this year you plan to attend our WLCJ International Convention…that would be your next leap forward.

I think that you get the idea….we can always look at our accomplishments not as the end of something but as the beginning of your next challenge! That is growth, and that is what is so exciting about being a part of your sisterhood, region and WLCJ…those leaps forward are there for us to take….with our friends by our sides.

Wishing each of you a Shabbat filled with peace and love,
Carol
